Class Timetable
It's great to see Rachael and Kyle, and Simon and Rewa back teaching after a bit of a break. Normally the following teachers will be teaching the following classes in March and April:
Wednesdays: Beginners – Mandy, Intermediate – Charlotte, Intermediate Plus – Adam, West Coast Swing beginners and intermediate – Snaiet.
Thursdays: Beginners – Adam, Intermediate – Tai during March, Adam during April, Intermediate Plus – Simon and Rachael, alternating every 2nd week
The taught by Snaiet and Paul last week went very well with great feedback. Come along to learn something new and dance with our growing number of WCSwingers.
We'd like to welcome a few new demonstrators to the Ceroc Wellington team. Alexey has been demonstrating with Mandy on Wednesdays during February and Tanya and Mahalia will be demonstrating with Adam for the next few months. We really appreciate these guys being keen to help with teaching Ceroc and bringing their experience and talents to the team. They join the existing team of demonstrators – Michelle, Cameron, Braden, Paul, Kyle, Rewa and Kelly.
Do you want to your dancing faster? Is there something you want to learn? Would you prefer to dance with only and not rotate? Or would you find it easier to learn with less people around or at a to classes? If you answered to any of these questions then could be ideal for you.
Our very talented group of teachers are available for private lessons for individuals or couples. Pick a teacher and arrange a time with them or let us know when or why you want a lesson and we'll find a teacher who is able to help you.
Private lessons can be booked by the half hour. Times may vary to suit, but a good time slot is usually 9pm-9:30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays after our regular classes finish. Lessons cost $40 per half hour (plus venue hire if required outside of normal Ceroc venues and evenings).
It is perfectly acceptable (and advisable!) to stop and watch the teacher when you are finding any aspect of a move difficult. Ask your partner to wait while you watch the teacher walk or dance through a move. And equally be patient and allow someone to watch the teacher rather than distracting their attention by trying to help them yourself.

Spectators tickets
For those of you who fancy a bird's eye view of the whole event, Gallery seating is available for just $20. This option does not include supper. While you are welcome to head down to the main floor for any social freestyle dancing segments, you must return to the Gallery while competition events are running and during the supper break. For a guaranteed place in the Gallery register online

Last weeks email seems so far away. Since then we have had to deal with the horrors of the earthquake. We have spoken to Deb and Matt who run Ceroc Christchurch and they are all well. They have temporarily moved away from Christchurch and will not be running classes for a week or so, but they are well and that is all that matters. We send our heart felt wishes to all Cerocers in Christchurch and to anyone and everyone involved.
On a more personal note but something I have to share, Mandys' grandfather who is 97 lives by himself in Christchurch. Mandys dad managed to call him just after the quake and asked if he was OK. He said he was watching it on TV. He said he was OK, just a bit dissappointed. It became clear that each party was speaking about something else. It turned out he was talking about the cricket. He had noticed a bit of shaking but had thought nothing of it. Oh to be 97.
Well done Snaiet. Snaiet taught a brilliant West Coast Swing class last week and everyone was overjoyed with what they learnt. Snaiet contrinues to take both the beginners class and intermediate WCS whilst Anita is recovering.
Did I mention the new Website last week, I believe I did. Well like all great things it has not gone totally to plan. Well not at all to plan actually and we are still trying to get it live. As I said the old site has been sent to the cleaners is has now been re-hung, cleaner, crisper and up to date. At least it will do until the new site is up and running.
I have been asked recently to teach quite a lot of private lessons. This is something I really enjoy doing. It gives me a chance to really improve peoples style and technique on a personal level. The difference from half an hour is usually quite dramatic. If you are interested in something along these lines, please let me know at the classes or by email. I can be reached at ceroc@hotmail.com
